A deep ruby colour with soft gleams, a multi-layered nose with accents of forest-fruit jam, currant in liqueur, dark chocolate, delicate smoke; a body with velvety tannins and a rich palate of transformed fruit; a long finish with a hint of smoke. An outstanding wine.
Qualities and assessment according to DiVino (December 2013):
A beautiful deep garnet red colour. The nose is complex, fruit-stone with perfume notes of flowers and essential oils, sweet spices, dark chocolate, blackberry, sour cherry, dried meat. A round, melted body, full and soft with smooth, velvety tannins and a tight, restrained, elegant finish with a memory of chocolate. It can be drunk now, but it can also be stored for at least five more years (2013-2018). (6803 bottles). An outstanding wine, a classic in its style
