Qualities according to the manufacturer:
A high-quality wine, combining the advantages of the ancient Bulgarian variety Mavrud with the classic Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which has matured for over 12 months in French barriques and developed a complex bouquet of ripe fruit, dry leaves, vanilla and tobacco. The taste is firm and balanced with ripe tannins and a warm finish.
Qualities according to The Catalogue of Bulgarian Wine for 2014:
A deep ruby colour with a violet edge; a nose of well-ripened grapes; a round and smooth body with a pleasant sweetness in the taste and a sense of dark chocolate; a savoury finish.
Qualities according to DiVino (September 2012):
The blend is Mavrud & Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon. The colour is deep, dense ruby. An attractive complex nose with earthy nuances, notes of indigo (ink), ripe blackcurrant and dark chocolate. A fresh, medium to full body with elegant, still tight tannins and a long, juicy yet spicy finish. The wine will be better in a year (2013-2016).
